Lesson 2
Staying Safe and Secure

Social media platforms has its benefits but also is a key component of depression but most importantly content that may not be appropriate for kids under 13. It is best to stick to people who you trust on social media rather than following or friending random people.

Rules are annoying to follow but they are there for a purpose: to proteect you. You should always age rules that social media implements. For example, you should not create an instagram account if you are under 13.

Hello! I am Mr. Blake, and I will force you to learn about the dangers of social media. Because really, aren’t we all just insecure in one way or another? Let’s get started.

First off, do not state any personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number, or school. Don’t even admit the country you live in!

I would recommend to ask someone else for help with managing your account. If you can’t do that, make your account private. This allows you to be more free with what you post. With a private account, only certain people can see your stuff, so Danny DeVito can no longer look at your family pictures. Sorry Danny.

Thirdly, remember your password! And also, make it secure! Don’t put in a password that’s super simple, like “ilovemydog”. Put in one that’s long and complex, like “!!naerokiThagor1003362!!”. That way, it’ll take years to guess and people will give up.
